Techpolymer polymeric microspheres
What is Techpolymer?
Techpolymer is a polymeric microsphere born from unique polymerization technologies developed by Sekisui Products. Techpolymer can be used for a variety of applications on basis of various hydrophobic vinyl monomers such as methyl methacrylate, butylmethacrylate, and styrene.
Techpolymer offers transparent resins with light diffusion properties that provide inks, coatings, and pigments with delustering and scratch resistance properties.
Techpolymer is available in a wide range of particle sizes, refractive indexes, shapes, and levels of crosslinking.
- Light Diffusion – To provide acrylic, PET, and polycarbonate resins with the property of diffusing light
- Paint and Inks – To make it mat, improve scratch resistant, provide better feeling, and unique surface finish
- Cosmetics – To improve the feel, enhance slipperiness, serve as absorber, and provide a soft-focus effect (to cover up wrinkles)
- Film and Sheet – To add an antiblocking effect to polyolefin, PET and other films
TECHPOLYMER IS AVAILABLE IN THESE CHEMISTRIES
Cross-linked Polymethyl methacrylate
Cross-linked polystyrene
Cross-liked-polybutyl methacrylate
Cross-linked polyacrylic ester
ADVANCELL THERMOEXPANDABLE MICROSPHERES
ADVANCELL are thermoexpandable microspheres are cross-linked acrylonitrile copolymers with a liquid hydrocarbon core. Expansion occurs at various temperatures and reduce density of a compound. Once expanded, these materials are structurally sound and possess excellent elastomeric properties. Active applications include underbody automotive coatings, expandable printing inks, gloss reducer, blowing agent for paints and plastics, and structure foam additives.

APPLICATION
Advancell can be used for weight and density reduction, Structural Foam (EVA-EM, PVC, PP, PE, Epoxy, Rubber, Silicon, etc,), Wall Paper, Sound Damping Coating, Clay, Shoe soles, and functional filler. It can be used as mating agent and for antislip surfaces.
PROCESS
Extrusion & Injection Molding, compounding, blow molding and solution coating.
ATTRIBUTES AFTER EXPANSION
- Fine, uniform, closed-cell structure
- Expands even in low viscosity system
- No surface pin holes
- Cell size can be controlled by selecting the appropriate grade
